Welcome to Mama Hen, a place to find lovingly handmade goods for small people. Mama Hen is focused on producing high quality items that will not only last for years (or a lifetime) but will look great the whole time! Goods are both unique and functional, composed of organic cottons and sourced from other small businesses as much as possible.

SHIPPING
All packages are shipped USPS First Class or Priority Mail (depending upon weight). Many items in the shop are ready-to-ship and will be sent out on my next shipping day after the order is placed and paid for. However, it is unlikely but possible that even ready to ship items it could take up to a week to be shipped. Please contact me for rush shipping quotes.I am not responsible for any USPS failures. These are not a reflection on my behalf and I cannot be held responsible to replace the item(s). If you would like insurance on your package, please contact me prior to ordering. I will provide tracking information to you after shipment and maintain the same information (and shipping receipts) in my records.
I am open to shipping internationally. Please contact me if you would like an item shipped outside of the continental US.
REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase please contact me within a week of receiving your order so that I can rectify the problem. I strive to make you happy and I want you to love your handmade goodies! In order for an item to be returned or exchanged it should be in the same new, unwashed condition that it was sent to you in. I cannot guarantee that I have more of the same fabric available in other sizes.
Due to the nature of custom orders being made specifically or you, I currently cannot accept returns on such items unless your dissatisfaction is due to an obvious sewing error. However, in most cases, I will love the opportunity to work with you to make sure you feel satisfied with your purchase- please send me a message to discuss!

Grow with Me Pants FAQs
* GWM pants can be made in three different sizes: newborn (fits approximately birth to 12 months), size 1 (fits approximately 6 months to 3 years), size 2 (fits approximately 18 months to 5 years)
* Sizing is approximate and will vary from child to child.
* Any custom pair of GWM pants can be made with or without a bum patch and/or with or without knee patches. Custom sizing can also be made to a custom fit (i.e. extra long or narrow)
* GWM pants "grow with" your child because the bands of fabric at the belly and ankle can be rolled up or down to adjust to your childs changing body!
* Custom GWM pants can take up to 2 weeks to complete from the time the order is placed. Also, custom orders have a surcharge of $2-$5 more per item than the same type of item ordered from inventory.
* GWM pants wash well! To keep their colors vibrant wash after wash please follow these care instructions: Wash in cold water and tumble dry low.

Fabric FAQs
I typically use two different types of fabric, a 100% organic cotton knit and a 95% cotton/ 5% lycra knit. Both fabrics are deliciously soft and comfortable, but there are a few differences that are noteworthy.
The organic cotton is very soft and gentle, and for those of you who only like organic fabrics on baby's skin, this may be the way to go. It typically feels a bit heftier to the touch than the cotton/lycra blend, however because it does not have any lycra in it, it does relax a bit throughout the day.
The cotton/lycra blend is a super soft 4-way stretch fabric. It retains its shape throughout the day a little better than the organic cotton and is a little bit thinner to the touch. Cotton/lycra blend fabrics are much more ideal for Fancy Pants than 100% cotton fabrics.
We wash and dry all our 100% cotton fabrics but due to the nature of these fabrics some garments and accessories may have some additional shrinkage.
Hand-washing and line-drying will keep your garments in tip-top shape, however, we understand for many of you this is just not practical. If you need to machine wash we suggest washing garments inside out, in cold water and drying on low heat.
None of the fabrics that Mama Hen uses are treated with flame retardant chemicals. Please use appropriate caution: avoid open flame and wear garments that are tight fitting.
